Painting is a means of expressing
my fascination with the modern landscape. I'm intrigued by how organic and
industrial forms comprise today's environment, and my work conveys the interaction
of these elements. The idea to create cityscapes was inspired by the distant
view of Boston that can be seen from my backyard. The city is alive; it breathes
and pulsates, filled with energy. It is tremendous
to behold from afar the urban architecture merging with the natural
environment.
I graduated with a BFA from Massachusetts College of Art with a concentration in painting. My work has been exhibited in various galleries in Boston and throughout Massachusetts. The paintings are formed with impressionistic shapes, colors, lines and patterns, which depict scenes from the visual exploration of my surroundings. Working in the oil medium, I strive with each painting to develop a visual language of my own, pushing the boundaries of representational painting.
